Acne-Safe Makeup for Acne-Prone Skin
THE ACNE-FRIENDLY MAKEUP EDIT
If you're working on clearing acne, your skincare routine is only part of the picture. Makeup sits on your skin for hours at a time, and certain formulas can sometimes contribute to congestion or make it harder to figure out what may be triggering new breakouts.
That does not mean you have to stop wearing makeup.
I want you to be able to enjoy your makeup without feeling like every product is working against your skin. This guide is here to make that process a little easier.
Below you'll find makeup options to explore for acne-prone skin, from primer and foundation to blush, bronzer and setting spray.
A FEW THINGS I WANT YOU TO KNOW FIRST
Skin is individual. Something that works beautifully for one acne-prone client may not be the perfect fit for another.
And makeup isn't usually the whole story when it comes to acne. Skincare, hormones, stress, sleep, medications, supplements, hair products, lifestyle habits and even how often you wash your makeup brushes can all matter.
Formulas also change. Brands can reformulate products at any time, so I always recommend looking at the current ingredient list before adding something new to your routine.
Think of this as a resource — not another set of rules to stress over.

CLEARING ACNE IS BIGGER THAN ONE PRODUCT
I never want acne care to become a game of obsessing over every single ingredient or being afraid to put anything on your skin.
The goal is to start noticing patterns.
If you're breaking out, look at the whole picture: what you're using on your skin, what you're putting in your hair, your makeup, your habits, your hormones, your stress and what's been changing in your life.
A good acne plan isn't about perfection. It's about consistency, paying attention and making changes that actually make sense for your skin.
And if you feel like you've tried everything and you're still guessing, that's where having someone look at the full picture can make such a difference.
